RARE BW Polaroid Photograph LOTUS MARIJUANA CIGARETTES
The picture is of a very controversial subject. It is the original Black & White marketing test photograph in a studio using type 55 Polaroid land film and is marked Polaroid on back. This photograph was found in a massive photo collection from the 1960's. Package in photo reads " Lotus finest selection Marijuana Cigarettes Made in USA Richmond VA." An unbroken tax stamp can be seen on the front where the name Lotus appears again. Print measures 7 3/8" x 4 1/4" and is unframed.
This is the only know picture to exist of a Richmond VA, USA cigarette manufacture’s attempt at branding Marijuana cigarettes prior to the 1970’s federal Controlled Substances Act of 1970, which established the Controlled Substance Act and confined marijuana to Schedule I classification and making this venture moot. a 1976 marketing document prepared for Brown & Williamson that discussed tobacco companies trademarking street names of marijuana. While not mentioning any specific companies or street names they have trademarked, the report confirms that tobacco companies have done this. It also discusses the rationale behind the move: positioning to cash in on the legalization of marijuana, if it should ever happen. The broadly assesses the industry's potential to fill such a market, and even goes so far as to predict the value a legalized marijuana market would have for the tobacco industry: Here is a perfect example of an early attempt by an unknown source at branding for the USA, Marijuana cigarettes. see http://tobaccodocuments.org/landman/548359.htm PRICED AT $15,000.00

VINTAGE OIL CANVAS 17C EUROPEAN
WOMAN IN CASTLE SIGNED JANUSOil Painting in Gilded &
Carved Frame. This piece is a RARE FIND due to its size, age and beauty.
We believe It dates back to the 1950 to 1960's signed by an artist named
JANUS. It is a original Oil on Canvas that depicts a beautiful 16 century
woman in the court.
The painting was purchased at an estate sale and does have one small paint
chip on the woman's hair (picture marked). We believe this auction was in
a smokers home since there seems to be some Light cigarette soil in two
areas. The soil seems tacky like tobacco tar and should be professionally
cleaned to restore the beauty (we left that for you) There seems to be a
ew spots of paint loss (we think) to the right of woman in tower window..
The frame is beautifully gilded and carved and also has
wear and imperfections as well. This piece was VERY WELL made with quality
that surpasses ANYTHING that is made today but Please understand that this
is an antique and has some minor imperfections on it with its age but
overall its in excellent shape. This frame measures 31" 3/4 wide x 27" 3/4
high x 2" thick, the actual portrait measures 24" x 20". The back is
marked with numbers and Grumbacher artist supplies New York.

VINTAGE THICK CARVED MAHOGANY
HANGING WALL MIRRORThe pictures tell the
story but notice the intricate design and wood back. The mirror has been
replaced and we opened the back to try and identify it. We think it is
from the 1950 to 1960's since the estate it came from had all 1950 - 1960
furnishings. The actual mirror is perfect, the woof frame has some very
minor dings and a little separation in on joint however, the overall
condition is very fine. The mirror weights over 22 lbs so it is not a
cheap plastic imitations, The frame measures 28 1/2" (at it's widest
point) x 48 1/2" hgh x 1" thick.
